Ed Sussman is a digital media and technology entrepreneur with a background in journalism and law. He is the co-founder and CEO of Buzzr, a web-based CMS, content discovery and content marketing firm. He previously ran FastCompany.com and Inc.com and was the executive editor of Inc. magazine.
More than 100,000 websites have been created with Buzzr and its toolset. Buzzr is a partnership with Lullabot, the most prestigious Drupal consulting/education firm in the world. Specialized Buzzr editions include the Buzzr Higher Education Edition, created with industry-leader mStoner.
As Executive VP of Mansueto Ventures (Inc. and Fast Company ), Ed oversaw digital, events, conferences, licensing and business developmentat the $70m brands.
Previously, as president of Mansueto Digital, Ed ran FastCompany.com, FastCompany.TV, Inc.com, IncTechnology.com and Scobleizer.com. In 2007, FastCompany.com was named best national magazine website in America by Editor & Publisher Magazine and by MediaWeek.
Starting as Managing Director of business websites at Gruner & Jahr U.S.A., Ed grew revenue at Inc.com and FastCompany.com 600% to about $11 million. Ed' s innovations blending journalism and user generated content were covered by TechCrunch, PaidContent, Folio, Advertising Age and B2B Magazine.
Ed founded IncTechnology.com, a source of practical technology knowledge for small business. He also founded Fast Company.TV with famed tech blogger Robert Scoble; finally, he created the Inc. 5,000, a ten fold expansion of the well known Inc. 500 list.
Earlier, Ed was the executive editor of Inc. Magazine, senior editor of Worth and P.O.V magazines. He wrote for the Wall Street Journal & the Financial Times. He was an adjunct NYU journalism professor for four years.
A lawyer, he graduated first in his class from Duke Law School. He clerked for a federal district and federal appellate judge.
